Burns notched an assist, two PIM and a plus-1 rating in Monday's 3-1 win over the Sabres.
Burns (undisclosed) was a full participant in Tuesday's practice, per Brennan Vogt of Hockey Mountain High.
Owner of one of the NHL's most distinctive grins (because of his missing teeth), he remains one of the league's most productive defensemen even though he is now closer to 40 than 30. Is huge but still very mobile, and remains capable of devouring 25-plus minutes per game night after night. Still an excellent skater, he has terrific passing skills to run a power play. Also, his sneaky-good shot can force teams to pay attention to it. He has to avoid the temptation to try to do too much with the puck.
Long Range Potential: Durable veteran defenseman.
